Job Description
The Piped Gas Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of piped CNG systems within housing societies, commercial buildings, and institutional campuses. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted gas supply to end users as per industry standards and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
Knowledge of pipeline fitting and CNG system components
Hands-on experience with valves, regulators, and gas meters
Ability to read technical drawings or layouts
Understanding of safety procedures for gas systems
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Physical fitness for on-site work, sometimes in confined spaces
Good communication and teamwork
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site visits and assist with the layout of internal pipeline networks
Install CNG pipelines, regulators, and gas meters in residential and commercial premises
Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and sealing of connections
Coordinate with safety teams for inspections and certifications
Provide post-installation support and customer education
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Keep accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repairs
Respond to emergency service calls and perform corrective actions
Assist in periodic servicing and audits for housing societies
Basic Qualifications
ITI/Diploma in Plumbing, Mechanical, or related technical trade
Minimum 2 years of experience in LPG/CNG pipeline installation or plumbing work
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with CGD companies or gas utility contractors
Certified in gas safety handling or pipe welding
Familiarity with PNGRB / PESO safety norms
